January: My last couple of weeks at Kid to Kid, getting ready for Janen to make her appearance in February and braving a plane ride to California at 37 weeks for my dear friend, Krissy's wedding.
February: Anxiously waiting for the arrival of Janen. Going to the hospital a couple of times because I was afraid something was wrong and ended up being induced. My beautiful baby girl arrived on February 10th at a whopping 9 and a half pounds and 22 inches long. Life will never be the same.
March: Serious lack of sleep and depression. Some say you won't remember the first few months for long, but I still do. I was a mess. But my sweet Janen was blessed by her daddy and lots of family was in town for it. It was great.
April: The month James and I made our first Turkey. I thought we did a great job. It was moisty deliciousness!! Janen also said her first word at 2 1/2 months. Don't believe me? Click on First Word. She says it clear as a bell at 52 seconds. It is still one of my favorite videos of her to this day. I can't believe how small she used to be.
May: I explored around with Vegetarian and Vegan meals and convinced James to go Vegetarian for the summer with occasional meat. I started a blog of my journies in the kitchen, but have seriously neglected it since I started school. Moved out of Bavarian to the place we are in now. Cheaper place, better ward altogether (of course there were a few people that I like from our previous ward)
June: Janen learns to roll over one way before she is four months old and during her fourth month learned how to hold her bottle. As for me, my life mainly consisted of staying home with Janen and struggling with loneliness. But I was happy to go to California and see the friends I've missed dearly and to visit my in-laws Jared and Lindsey and Landon just a month after they moved there.
July: Sunshine and warmer weather. YES! Utah does not get what I call swim worthy weather until end of June/July. 80 degrees is not warm enough to go swimming for me. I love to go swimming when it is scorching hot outside. 92 or higher. The hotter the better! Janen had a grand old time swimming and we loved taking her whenever we could. At the end of the month I decided to go back to school after much debate and prayer. I am so glad I did. Janen learns how to jump in her Johnny Jumper and falls asleep in it. Also on of my favorite videos of the year.
August: Finishing out the summer and going back to school full-time
September: A blur
October: Kind of a blur... family pictures, Halloween stuff...
November: My 25th birthday, Thanksgiving at our place with friends from the ward and desserts at Emily's.
December: My first semester ends and I got straight A's. Christmas in Minnesota.
Can you tell I got tired of doing this by August. Yeah... But it's better than nothing right?
