JESS y JAMES: James 26th Birthday!

Most of the birthday's around here tend to be very mellow. James was just happy to be with his family. The night before his birthday we went to Red Robins and cashed in on a free gourmet burger with our birthday coupon. The morning of his birthday we went to Denny's and he got a free Grand Slam! We both got the pass of all passes so that we can have fun stuff to do often. His was his birthday present and mine was a Mother's Day present. James also got a large toolbox from me and Janen. He's been needing a better place to keep his tools and I was sick of them falling off the laundry room shelf every time I tried to grab something. For his "birthday cake" I made him an apple pie with a crumble topping of which we had with vanilla icecream. It was yummy and now I want to make another apple pie!

I felt really bad for not doing something more spectacular for James' birthday, but was grateful that all he requested to do was to spend some quality time with us. Since my growing belly and toddler duties make for one tired mama. So that's exactly what we did. He also said that he just wanted us to be happy. He even let me go out to dinner with some friends down in Provo that night because my dear friend Julia was in town for the weekend and he knows how much I wanted to see her. I really do have an amazing husband. He works hard to provide for us in a job that doesn't compensate him nearly as much as he deserves. He comes home everyday and jumps into his fatherly duties with Janen. She really does love him and endearingly calls him "da-da". He's always trying to make sure I am happy and comfortable and he overlooks my sour attitude on my bad days and looks for ways he can ease my burdens. I hope to someday be able to show him how grateful I am for him.
