Our First Swim of the Season

Janen and James walking hand and hand to the pool. She LOVES to go to the pool with her Daddy! Probably because he's ok with getting in all the way. The cooler heat and wind doesn't bother him as much as it bothers me.

Moment of truth. First time in the pool this summer. I've heard stories of other kids growing fearful of the water around this age so I was curious to see what Janen's reaction would be, but she was absolutely enthralled and excited!

James would go under water and pop up to surprise Janen. She LOVED that and laughed hysterically every time. Now I'm wishing I would've signed her up for swim lessons. But now that we have her in gymnastics, it's just going to have to wait. Maybe next winter we'll get her signed up and she'll be all ready next summer.

I was sitting down and lounging by the pool when I looked over and noticed Janen holding onto her Daddy while he spun her around in the water. It was so tender and I didn't want to ruin the moment so I zoomed in from where I was sitting to film it. Hence why it's a little blurry.

And of course a little throwing in the air never hurt anybody right?

I find it hilarious that Janen has no fear when it comes to the pool. In fact, I took her once without James and she straight up walked off the kiddy (shallow end) pool and right into the deep end. My friend Stacee grabbed her up after Janen had gone under water and I expected her to cry  but she smiled. No fear from this one. She asks us to dunk her! Ideal swim student if you ask me! Yet this girl is totally afraid of the shower?! LOL! I love her.

  1. That video of Janen holding on to James as they twirled was so so adorable! You guys are such a cute family. I enjoyed all your posts today and seeing Janen singing all those words. Can't wait to get the cousins together soon!

  2. Janen is growing up so fast (just like mine... how do they do that?!). I'm glad that she loves the pool. It will make lessons next year so much easier! Also, I loved your post about getting off Facebook. I find myself on there much too often as well and am constantly wishing that I was back in Clovis with my family and close friends when I see them posting about the fun things they are doing. I took a break for a few months last year (or was it the year before?) and it was great for me. I think I might have to follow your example and take another break soon.
