Janen's 15 Month Check-Up

Just a quick update on Janen's growth progress at 15 months and 6 days.

Weight:  23 p 4 oz --- 76th percentile
Height:  32 1/4 inch --- 93rd percentile
Head:  18 inch --- 50th percentile

We still have one very tall girl. Which still makes it hard to find pants that fit her waist, but that are long enough. Here are a few things Janen has been up to. She's saying words more clearly now. Instead of "wa-wa" she says water clearly. She also has learned how to put endings on some words. So instead of "wa" or "ra" for walk and rock respectively, she says them perfectly. I think her favorite word is "no" right now and she says it so cute so I really can't get mad. She's just flexing her ability to choose and I think that's great. She is still anemic despite another 6 week treatment of iron and eating iron fortified foods, but luckily it's not any worse. She loooves to be outside and will run and run if I let her, but it's so tiring! When we let her play out in the front yard she runs to a pile that has a bunch of rocks and says, "rock" and always picks up two. One for each hand of course. Whenever music is on she dances with this cute little bounce and run in place move. Janen loves to snuggle and says, "snul" when she gives us big hugs. She is very affectionate and I love that! The biggest thing I noticed about Janen over the past couple months is her ability to understand and follow directions. I can tell her to get her shoes and bring them to me and she will. I can ask her to get a specific book (one of her favorites, not just any) and she'll find it and bring it to me. She can point out certain things in books like a dog, or a teddy bear and when she see's tears she says, "cry."

I am just amazed at how absorbent Janen is. I bought alphabet letters and numbers for the bathtub and started working on a letter and number of the week. I am trying to work on having her recognize the letters and numbers. Sometimes she notices an A is and A and other times she says G for some reason, but I know she will learn them eventually.

I wish I had a recent picture to post of her today, but our camera is no longer in working order as of last week. However, I do have several pictures before it died.

Janen in her Easter dress from Grandma Havican

And this was the easter dress we picked out for her a long time ago. I just couldn't pass it up. And I just realized that it will go nicely for a minnie mouse dress for halloween. I hope she still fits in it then!

First time down the slide by herself!

She loves to hold on to the swing and put her head back.
Don't you just love this face!

 My pretty girl!

She loves to play with her ball outside, but for some reason she wanted to have both her sippy cup and her ball in her hands that day.
