Full Term!!

I made it to full term! YAY! At my Doctor's appointment last week I had gained 7 pounds in a week and a half. A WEEK AND A HALF!!!! My Dr tried to make me feel better and said that it might mostly be water weight, but still. Luckily, I only gained a pound over the last week. Whew! The less I have to lose the better. I just know it's going to be a few months after the baby is born before I get back into a normal exercise routine.

Last week I was at 1 cm and 0 effaced. (if this makes you uncomfortable, then press the back button). Today I am at 1 1/2 cm (so not much farther from last week) and 70% effaced. We discussed our trip to California from Thursday to Sunday for Kristen's wedding and she said there is a 10% chance that I could give birth while I'm there. So 10% doesn't seem like a lot so I'm just going to pray REALLY hard that that doesn't happen. Cause that would be the pits. Also, she recommended I use the wheelchair at the airports and stay off my feet as much as I can. No problem-o Doc! You don't have to tell me twice!

James and I are excited to be leaving Utah for a few days. Even if our time there is going to be completely consumed by a wedding. We're just so happy for a change and to celebrate this special time in Kristen's life. We have been working hard to get everything ready for the baby and I'm happy to say the room is about 75% done. We still have a few more items to get to ensure that we have all we need, but I'm hoping to have everything at least 90% done by tomorrow night. Just in case she decides to come within a couple days of returning home from California, we'll be ready for her.

I had two baby showers over the last 2 Saturdays! I have such great family and friends here. I am very grateful to have been able to meet such sweet and thoughtful women since my time here. At one of my baby showers, all the women wrote down their predictions for the arrival (date & time) of the baby as well as her weight and length. I had never done that before. I thought it was fun! Most everyone, except one, said that she would come during the first week of February, but before my due date of February 8th. One said I would be 2 days late. The most popular date chosen was February 6th at 3 votes, with February 5th at a second with 2 votes.

I am so excited!!!!

  1. Hope you have fun on your little trip :) BTW, check with your airline before you leave. Some actually require a note from your OB giving the "ok" if you're flying in the last month of pregnancy.

  2. I hope your trip is uneventful! Everything sounds like it's going so well with your pregnancy. I can't wait to see pictures in a few weeks of the newest member of your family.

  3. Exciting! I hope that you don't give birth on your trip too. That wouldn't be too convenient.

  4. Noel's doctor recommended she have a back-up physician in the city she traveled, just in case. I hope you won't need one, though! And, I hope that the baby doesn't come on February 2. There are more important things to worry about that day, right? ;)
