T-Minus 13 Days!!!

I am very excited for baby girl Havican to make her appearance in this world. And I am excited to have part of my body back. (this is not the time for you to leave your opinion about how I will never have my body back and blah blah blah). Let me be optimistic ok!? I'm sure I won't ever be 100% the same, but gosh darn I'm going to try my hardest to get as close to that 100% as I can! All you mother's can roll your eyes now...

So the nursery is pretty close to finished. Just a few more final touches, but all the essentials are there and ready to be used. I don't know if anyone remembers me mentioning that I was going to make the baby bedding, but I did (with the help of my sister in law Emily) and I love it! I decided it needs a dust ruffle so I bought some material to do that and to make a valance, but we'll see how far I actually get with that.

Here is the material before we got to work on it.

And here is the finished product!!

I also bought some pre cut letters at Joann's and painted them purple and green. The picture doesn't really do the purple tint justice, but you get the idea. It's supposed to be purple with green trimming.

And yes, in case you were wondering, we settled on a name. Janen Marie. Pronounced just like it's spelled if you understand phonetics in any way. JAN like Jan Brady from the Brady Bunch show. And EN like the prefix. Put it together and you get Janen. Not Janine, not Janet, not Jana (although this name is partially inspired by that name) not Jane-n. But Janen. I do not want to have to repeat myself. It seems pretty easy to me to not butcher that!

The end!

  3. Very cute! I like the name too, but then I tend to be partial to the more creative names (or at least less used). ;) Good luck as her arrival comes closer and closer!

  5. Love the bedding, and on the contrary, I lost all my baby weight with my first without trying. Honest. And by the time he was 11 months old I actually weighed 4 pounds lighter than when I got preggers with him. (And I had no clue I was pregnant with Rose!) See, dare to dream the impossible dream, Sweetie!

  6. I've heard of plenty of people who lost all the baby weight, and if anyone can do it it's you!

And the bedding is so cute! If I ever have a baby guess who I'm calling...maybe I'll just beg you to make me bedding for myself :)

  7. The bedding is ADORABLE!!!! I'll have to get some tips from you for the next baby instead of buying it all! Also, I really enjoyed getting to know you this last weekend...I've heard your name a million times in conversation with Becky and Kristen, so it was nice to finally put a face to a name! Good luck with baby Janen! Can't wait to see cute pictures!
