James and I are in our new place finally. We were fortunate enough to have his family in town for our nephew Landon's blessing so they were able to lend a helping hand, which I appreciated immensely. I don't think we could've done it on our own. Still don't have everything in it's proper place, but all of the important things are put away and that's what really matters.
I am still doing as well as I could hope with the pregnancy. Still on the medication and probably will be for awhile. My doctor said it was ok if I needed it for the whole pregnancy. Although, I am grateful for modern medicine, I hope that is not the case. It can get pricey. :-( I had my 17 week check up today and me and the baby are doing fine. I can't believe I'm almost half way done! What am I saying, yes I can. I'm glad! HAHA! The Dr had a hard time getting a reading on the babies heartbeat cause it was swimming around so much in there. I've been feeling her move everyday for the past few days and that's a fun feeling. I set up an appointment with the ultrasound tech for the tell all of the baby. I like having something to look forward to. My intuition tells me it's a girl, but we'll see. Either way, I am happy we are having a baby. I have a good friend getting married in January and she asked me to be there and be in her wedding, I was afraid that my doctor would say it wasn't safe to travel at 36 weejs, but she said as long as I'm not dilated and my levels are fine then she sees no reason for me not to go. So I guess only time will tell, but for now I'm planning on being there!
Even though I hated my previous job, I wish sometimes that I had a part time job. I thought about taking up a couple of paid baby sitting jobs, but the rate here in Utah county is $2-$4 an hour! No thanks! I have been periodically checking for postings of families in need of a sitter, but have yet to find one family who is willing to pay even $5 an hour. Most are at the $2-$3 rate and I just find that ridiculous! Who knows maybe something will come up that won't be too demanding, but that will keep me busy and help me earn some extra money to pay for some of the baby expenses.
To wrap up this ever so fun or moreso informative post I just have one more thing to say. I just saw a commerical on tv for the Utah State Fair and I want to go so bad! James and I have had a lackluster of excitment pretty much the entire summer. Our funds are limited and we both try to not be bummed out but can't help ourselves. We used to once be active people who loved to go out and do things, but having a baby changes everything. But we both agree that we deserve a little indulgence and that's just what we're going to do. Anyone living here in Utah is more than welcome to join us. I think it will be a fun filled outing! Yee-haw! or something like that. :-)
Jess, I cannot believe that the babysitting rate here is THAT low! Utah is ridiculous to me in so many ways, and what they pay for hard work is definitely one of them! I hope you can make it out for that wedding. Oh, and you are on my list for the baby shower! Lyra is throwing it, and it will be here in Orem on October 17th! I need your new address to send you an invite!
