One Step Closer..

To OWNING A HOME!! Wahoo!! I've been doing months of looking and researching properties and areas that when we finally decided to move forward with it, we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted and what we could and couldn't live with. If that makes sense. We kept perusing the listings every day, but nothing quite jumped out at us and fit our needs. There were plenty of houses that fit our needs, but not in the right area or it was super out-dated (yuck). There was one place in West Jordan that looked appealing, but it was snatched up right away. Well when our real estate agent sent us a new listing in Lehi we fell in love with the pictures. The house fit all our needs, is newer (within 10 years) so it's not outdated, and it has a decent size yard. And bonus, they were throwing in a swing set. We asked to look at it right away knowing that this was the one, but needed to be in the house to confirm. Last night we took a look and we fell in love all over again! We looked at another property a few blocks down and there was no comparison. The first house felt like home. Our realtor told us they already had 4 other showings so we needed to act fast. We offered full price (since there was so much competition) if they would pay for our closing costs and throw in the fridge and we said we wanted to close end of october/beginning of november because the lease is up for our apartment at the end of November.

Well....we got a call this morning and THEY ACCEPTED OUR OFFER!!! And the clencher was our move-in-date. We weren't even the first offer, but because they wanted to stay until November it was ideal for all of us. We are soo excited to finally be in a home and make it our own. YAY!!!

  1. That is so exciting! I'm so happy they accepted your offer, that seemed to be the trick when we were buying a house. The first offer we had accepted was the house we got! And I"m so glad you got a newer home. That was a big thing for me too, and I"m so happy we did, because our utilities have been WAY less (our house is about 10 years old). And getting those closing costs taken care of is such a big deal, it sounds perfect!! Keep us updated, I can't wait to hear how it all goes down (hopefully it'll continue to be smooth sailing!).

  3. Congratulations!!! The whole buying a home process is so scary but so amazing. We're at the bitter end of it ourselves - we are still waiting to hear on whether our funds went through so we can know whether we can move in tonight or not. Congrats again and good luck with it all!
