Why I Love Warmer Weather

We have been up to so much fun the last week or two that this post will mostly consist of pictures (and a couple of videos). Although the weather still hasn't been as warm as I would like it to (some days) I am still grateful that it's over 65 on the cooler days. Without further adieu, here's a collection of pictures to document all the fun things we've been up to recently.

(In no particular order, cause I'm too lazy to sequence the time of events right now.)

Janen playing with the cloud fluff/sand/stuff I made for her

We went to the Herriman Days Carnival last Friday and they had an event called "touch a truck" where kids could climb into all sorts of different vehicles.
Janen got to go inside an army helicopter, a fire engine, a police RV, a tractor, a dump truck, a street cleaner and she got to sit on a motorcycle and jet ski from the police department. She seriously loved it! Every time we pass by a truck or see an airplane/helicopter in the sky, she tells me that she wants to ride it some day.

Here Janen is on her first Ferris Wheel ride!

Her first taste of cotton candy. It's just not a carnival without cotton candy right?

We also got to hang out with family the past two Saturdays which has been super nice! Unfortunately, I think we were all trying to squeeze in as much quality time as we could that I forgot to take pictures. Jared & Lindsey and their two handsome boys were only passing through town on the way to and from Minnesota so our time with them was limited. But the first Saturday we had brunch at Emily's and then our niece and nephew Kaitlyn and Logan came over to swim. The second Saturday everyone came over here and we BBQ'd and then headed over to the Herriman Rec center to enjoy their indoor water park! We have been wanting to try it out and boy was it a lot of fun! Janen is super duper fearless in the water. It scares me! She even went up the jungle gym and went down the big orange slide by herself (more than once). I need to get her some floaties for my peace of mind.  We were so glad to spend some time with family that we only get to see about once a year and wish we could see them more! I think a trip to California soon is in order!

Yesterday we went to the Salt Lake Bee's game with James' department at work. They rented out a box suite for us. So free food and game for our FHE last night. Janen had a blast! I tried to enjoy myself as much as I could but Janen was too hyper for me to be able to relax. That girls prime energy time is from 6-8 I tell ya! I think it's a direct correlation to when Daddy's home. LOL!

We have even more fun stuff coming up! This Friday, Schiff Nutrition (where James works) is having their huge company party to Lagoon! I'm bummed that I can't ride on really anything, but supposedly they have random days during the season where you can go back one more time for free. So I'm hoping to do that when I'm not pregnant cause I miss rollercoasters! But it does bring me joy to watch my family having fun too. :)

P.S.
I will post more about this later, but I think Janen is finally getting the hang of potty training. She has been wearing underwear (other than nap and bed time-she doesn't know how to wake up to pee) for the past 3 days and has only had 3 accidents and a couple of very small (pee a tiny bit in her underwear) accidents. And when that happens she'll tell me she needs to pee and run to the bathroom. Also, she is way more willing to sit on the potty (and often) than she's ever been. I think we are finally getting somewhere. I don't think our success will come super fast like some people, but I hope it's sooner rather than later. I know some people say not to potty train when a baby is on the way and I had every intention of not doing it until the fall, but she kept asking me to sit on the toilet so I decided to take my cue from her. I hope I don't regret it. :)

And just a little more than 3 weeks until our little one is here! YAY!

  1. Cute cute pictures! I too am bummed that I didn't pull out the camera but we'd love a visit and we'll take lots of pictures then. :) I loved reading Janen's potty training success. Keep it up Janen! You do whatever timing is best for her, as she dictates and don't listen to me or anyone else. hehe

  3. Wow! I am so proud of little Janen who is figuring out Potty training!!! You need to send me more tips like you've done before especially since I feel like Naomi and Janen have very similar personalities. :)
