About half way into this past month she decided she wanted to start pulling herself to stand. She's had lots of trial and error, but she's learning very fast. I honestly wasn't expecting her to do this yet, the thought didn't even cross my mind, but it makes her so happy and I love to see that!
At first it started out when she would push herself up on her knees against furniture "her size"
Then her death grip (we like to call it) assisted her until she was finally able to pull herself up to standing. Now she is in the beginning stages of cruising. I can't believe it! She may be walking in the next couple of months. Apparently, James started walking full-on when he was 9 months old; I was 11 months old so it may just be in her genes to start walking before her first birthday. But only time will tell!
She also decided she was finally going to try and crawl on all fours. However, she still prefers the army crawl and after traveling a few feet on all fours, she'll plop down to do the army crawl. I think she feels she can get to her destination faster that way.
She has become a very difficult one to change this past month. She's always trying to roll over either to her side or completely to her tummy. It is frustrating because it just prolongs the process and she gets upset when we try to interfere with her exploration. So we try to distract her for a couple of minutes with anything we can, but it doesn't work for very long.
Janen loves to spend time with her daddy. When he comes home she crawls to him to greet him. I think it's soo cute! Of course Janen loves to spend time with her mommy too, but we're working on getting James to pull out the camera and take pictures without me having to ask him. ;-)
Janen in her Sunday Best!
Janen is such a hoot and she keeps us smiling all the time. Her biggest motivation for crawling was if she could get her hands on our electronics.
Here she is as part of James' halloween costume (he's a basket of laundry, but it was'nt done at this point) and one of her playing in the basket before we cut the hole out of the bottom. She loved being in there and got mad at me when I took her out.
A video of her playing with her shadow and another video of Janen saying, "Hi" and "DaDa" This is one of my favorite videos of her so far. It cracks me up!
And another pic from her photoshoot yesterday. We love being parents to such a beautiful and innocent baby.

Janen is sooo adorable : )
ReplyDeleteI love all of Janen's beautiful pictures! How cute. :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe James could be a mama kangaroo instead for Halloween, with his cute "Joey." He might get more candy that way ;)
ReplyDeleteAH!! Liz you kill me! I love that idea!
ReplyDeleteFun costume ideas. Can't wait to see your pictures of the night.
