I can't believe we have reached the half way point to Janen's 1st birthday. Janen has been up to a lot this month. She is excelling in her growth and learning every day. Here are some pictures to help illustrate what's been going on in the life of my baby girl.
Lately, I've been putting bows and flowers on Janen more than usual. I am getting sick of people coming up to me in the store or whatever public place and saying, "Oh, what a cute little boy!"
Janen's first baseball game. She was very vocal and growling all the time. She'll be great for the BYU games this fall. Go Cougars!
She has grown even more and more curious of the things around her. she's always trying to grab everything in site. And her favorite place to put them is, you guessed it, her mouth!
She has been practicing sitting up every day. She is so close! The picture up top of her sitting up was for about 5 seconds with my hand close to her in case she fell over. I think in a week or two, she'll get the hang of it.
I think she was mad at me cause I had to use the flash and she was getting tired. The "look" is starting!
Janen's preferred method of transportation is rolling and turning her self around. She'll roll a few times and turn her self to get to something she wants. Sometimes she sticks up her bottom when doing tummy time, but she has yet to go on all fours. I can tell she is getting anxious to be more mobile cause she's always trying to get something that is out of reach and gets frustrated.
Janen likes to talk, ALOT! Sometimes it takes her an hour or two to get comfortable with strangers or people she doesn't see very often, but once she does, she makes lots of noises. Here are the 'words' she knows so far.
ba-ba-ba
da-da-da
ma-ma-ma
ya-ya-ya
moooom
ahhhhhh
*growl*
Even though she may not understand what the words mean fully. There have been a couple of instances where it seemed like she understood them. One time while James was changing her, she looked at him and said "Da-Da" Whenever, she wants my attention or to snuggle with me she says, "Moooom" I really think she's going to be a talker.
I don't know how much Janen weighs yet, because her 6 month appointment isn't for a couple of weeks. But my guess is at least 18 pounds. James thinks 20 pounds, but I guess we'll see. She is 27 inches long now so that means her growing has slowed down the past couple of months. She is starting to look more her age and less like a big baby that trumps other babies twice her age.
We love you Janen! Here's to another 6 months of growth and discovery!!
She's such a little cutie!!
