It's funny how becoming a mommy suddenly makes you look at your wardrobe and say to yourself, "that is so highschool/teenager." I was mostly a t-shirt and jeans girl. I will most likely still be a t-shirt and jeans girl, but I would like some shirts that are a little more reputable that don't say things like, "I Love Nerds" with superman's face on it.
QUICK! Somebody nominate me for the show WHAT NOT TO WEAR so they can help me dress more my age. Ok, so I don't really have a problem dressing my age. The biggest reason I need new clothes is because my bust can no longer fit in any of my pre-pregnancy shirts. All of my nice buttoned up tops are too small for me to button them up comfortably or without giving someone a sneak peak of my undershirt. Well, what shirts have I been wearing you ask? Mostly my pajama shirts and maternity tops. Not that I didn't like the maternity clothes I had to wear, but it slightly depresses me that I still have to wear not just the tops, but the bottoms too. Yeah, I know it's only been 2 and a half weeks, but who knows when I will get my figure back and when I'll be able to slide those jeans over my hips and button them. Thank goodness for Laura Grace and her thoughtful gift. A gift card to TJ MAXX to purchase my first pair of jeans postpartum. Thank you sistah-friend!!
On to other things, life as a mommy is great/exhausting/fun/weepy etc...I love seeing Janen grow and discover different things. I like getting to know her personality and see what she favors more. She definitely LOVES to snuggle. And daddy loves to snuggle with her too!
I hope she continues to love to snuggle with us. Even in her adult years. It may be wishful thinking, but I'm holding onto that dream for as long as I can. I didn't grow up in an affectionate family, but doesn't mean I can't have an affectionate family of my own. :-)
Girl! I know how bad a woman needs jeans. If you have a tape measurer, measure your bust, waist, hips, bootay, and inseam--we'll get you online shopping in no time. The best part of online shopping: ebay. Sounds ridic, but it is fab.
ReplyDeleteoh friend...i totally know how you feel. i was in such a slump for such a long time. you dont want to wear your clothes, but you dont want "mom" clothes really either. just stay true to you :) You are always so cute.
