When Janen was about a week old, we noticed that she had some bumps on her chin. We thought at first maybe they were baby acne and would clear up on their own, but they never did. At her 9 month appointment, we asked the doctor what they were and they weren't sure so we were recommended to a dermatologist. It took almost 3 months out until we got an appointment, but we got one. The Dermatologist originally thought it was calcium deposits, but today we fond out they were actually cysts. Three separate cysts clustered on the left side of her chin which makes sense because they've slowly been getting bigger over the last year. So she went to have them removed and got put under in order to do it. I think that part made me the most nervous for her. One because she couldn't eat for several hours and her surgery wasn't first thing in the morning and two because I didn't want her to come out of it throwing up. I hate seeing my baby sick. But she was extremely patient while she waited for them to take her in. I was amazed at that! I was expecting a very un-happy and cranky girl, but she was the exact opposite. She was a little cranky coming out of the surgery, but that was just because she was confused, disoriented and hungry. She chugged down her soy milk and snacks, took a nice nap and ate a lot at dinner. I mean A LOT! Here are some pictures we took to document the day.
Here she is before going into surgery. She was ready for a nap and kept saying, "nigh, night"
Post surgery. I love these series of pictures. Feel free to make up your own captions for them. This is the exact order they were taken in.
Isn't she so cute?
They have little hospital gowns for babies?! She might be one of the few for looking so cute in one!
ReplyDeleteShe really is so pretty! She looks amazingly calm in the hospital pictures and happy in the bottom ones. Yay for non-dangerous cysts! (It's late and I can't figure out a better way to word that last sentence. :)
ReplyDeleteThat had to of been so hard on you and your husband. I hope she heals quickly!
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute!!!! Kiss those cheeks for me. What a brave girl! Evelyn has some of those calcium deposits. I'll keep my eye on them.
